What It is
Notarisation is the act by which a notary public verifies the identity of the signatories and authenticates a document or signature. In Dubai this is carried out by a Dubai Courts notary or a private notary licensed by Dubai Courts.
What it is not
It is not legalisation or attestation, which prepare a document for cross-border use, and it does not guarantee that a receiving bank, developer or authority will accept the document’s contents.
Where it is used
Most formal powers of attorney and many declarations must be notarised before they can be used with UAE banks, registries, courts or developers.
