Form U is one of the standardised RERA real estate forms in Dubai, generally used to update or cancel a previously registered broker agreement or listing. It records a change to, or termination of, an arrangement already in the system.
Where you’ll see it
You’ll see Form U when a listing or broker mandate needs to be changed or ended — for example when a client withdraws a listing or switches agent. As the RERA form set can evolve, confirm the current use of each form for your transaction.
Why it matters
Formally updating or cancelling an arrangement keeps the record accurate and prevents disputes over expired or superseded mandates. It ensures everyone is working from the current, correct position.
What it is not
Form U is not the original listing or sale agreement — it amends or ends one. It is also not a government transfer document; it concerns the brokerage arrangement, not ownership.
Example
A seller decides to change agents; Form U is used to cancel the existing registered listing arrangement so a new mandate can be put in place cleanly.
